Ugliness is in a way superior to beauty because it lasts

Is it just me or has their been a spate of biopics lately? Mostly I don't mind if these films (or even books) are accurate or true as long as they're good. I don't know if this looks that good - but making a movie with anything to do with Serge is a probably good step in the right direction for anyone.

If you haven't seen the Serge and Whitney interview you really should.

Oh Serge! I don't know why exactly, but I kind of hate the idea of anyone else trying to be him. (though that guy sure looks a lot like him)
I think maybe biopics of musicians are fundamentally tricky, because the real person is never that far back in people's minds for easy comparison. Even if they're dead they're within in living history: memories, photos, videos, records. Which is why I'm Not There worked so well, I guess, and Factory Girl had a not-Dylan Dylan. Postmodern! (or possibly trying to avoid a lawsuit in the case of the latter)
