Best Movies You've Never Seen #3
Foxfire (1996) - Dir. Annette Haywood-Carter
OK the plot might not be entirely coherent and some of the lines are a bit cringey BUT it has that great mid-90s aesthetic (my-so called life esque), a great cast (young Angelina Jolie) and some great moments. The scene where they dance around in the abandoned house is particularly amazing. Also I goddamn wish I had a girl gang of misfits when I was a teenager - one that stole cars, held up rapists at knife point and climbed bridges.
Oh and wore rollerblades in highschool.

i used to LOVE this movie. like seriously LOVE. but in hindsight, like most things... definitely a bit cringe-worthy in terms of dialogue. but so it is with adolescence.
i think i found it on your blog! That and all over me - I watched and love all those films - can't believe there are some great 90s teen films I missed (though I'm way too old I still love them!)

I haven't seen this, but I went to college with Elden Hensen (Bobby) and I don't know what kind of character he plays in this, but I've seen him play dorks in other movies. He is nothing like that in real life, at least he wasn't in college. He was a super huge punk rocker, but chubby and I always thought it was funny.
